Celebrate America’s 250th with EHS!

America250

America250 is a nationwide celebration to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. While this milestone will be marked officially on July 4, 2026, EHS is starting celebrations this year to give us more time to celebrate. Follow this page for all of the local happenings for this national celebration of American history.

Veterans of the Revolution Cemetery Walk

Join EHS on Saturday, September 27th for a new walking tour of River View Cemetery that will remember the soldiers of Essex residents who fought during the Revolutionary War.   We ask that you please register for this walk.  Details found on our events page

America 250 Winter Lecture Series

Join EHS in January 2026 as we begin the America 250 year with a series of three lectures at Essex Meadows exploring topics of the American Revolution. 

Essex Commemorative Cookbook

As we prepare for the Semiquincen-tennial, EHS is working to improve, expand, and better connect the historic sign markers throughout the three villages. 

Early American Crafts and Trades Weekend

Save the Date for June 27-28, 2026 as EHS celebrates America’s 250th birthday with a weekend of craft and trades demonstrations, workshops, and artisan booths at Pratt House.  More details to come!
