EHS Needs Your Favorite Recipes!

Essex Historical Society along with some local partners are cooking up something fun to help Essex celebrate the America 250 revolving around July 4, 2026—the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.  As a twist on the idea of a town time capsule to commemorate this milestone, EHS will be producing a town-wide cookbook to honor our shared history through food that will act as a tangible, fun treasure for future generations.

Submit your recipes and food stories! This cookbook will hopefully encompass all Essex residents and those who treasure their time in Centerbrook, Essex, and Ivoryton villages. We extend the opportunity to anyone who lives in Essex or has a treasured culinary memory from Essex to submit a recipe or story. The recipe DOES NOT need to be original, but your story about why you are submitting the recipe does.
